The Galaxy S24 Could End Up Featuring An Exynos 2400 Chipset Despite Signing A Deal With Qualcomm Last Year - Wccftech

We have just entered the Q2 of 2023, and rumors about next year's Galaxy S24 have already started coming in. The latest one might have you in distress, as we have received word that Samsung is currently working on Exynos 2400, and the chipset will be featured in none other than next year's Galaxy S24.

Galaxy S24 using Exynos chipset sounds like a bad recipe for all Samsung enthusiasts

The rumor is coming from a news outlet that previously talked about the Galaxy S23 FE using the Exynos 2200 chipset instead of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Gen 2, and now the outlet tells us that the South Korean tech giant is back on the drawing board and is working on the Exynos 2400, which will be featured in the Galaxy S24 series set to launch next year.

Now, the reason why I would suggest that you take this rumor with a grain of salt is simple. Qualcomm and Samsung signed a deal back in 2022 that ensured that future Galaxy flagships would be using Snapdragon processors. Take the Galaxy S23 series, for instance. The phones globally launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and last year's Galaxy S22 series launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the majority of regions. This is reason enough to believe that the same can be said about next year's Galaxy S24 series.

However, the publication still believes that the Exynos 2400 will be going into mass production by November, later this year. This would put it around the same time we could see the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor making its debut. Ideally, there would be nothing wrong with Samsung using its in-house chips to power its flagship smartphones. Still, the company has been suffering drastically due to the poor overall performance and efficiency of Exynos chipsets.

Exynos 2200, 2100, 990, and 9820 were all notorious for delivering average performance when compared to their Snapdragon counterparts, with many users complaining how flagships powered by these chipsets feel like entirely different and cheaper phones. If Samsung does plan on using an Exynos 2400 for its upcoming Galaxy S24, it will need a winning formula at hand. Or else, the company should stick to using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is yet to be announced.

Do you think Samsung should start working on flagship Exynos chipsets again, or are you happy with the performance Snapdragon chips are delivering? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
