Gigabyte to launch Radeon RX 6800 XT with a new design
The company’s RX 6800 Gaming series lineup to expand.
As a reminder, Gigabyte already has four GAMING models based on RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT cards. All four cards look identical, and they are offered with optional factory overclocking (the OC models).
Gigabyte did not actually update their RX 6000 lineup for quite some time. In fact, there have been no updates to the Radeon RX 6000 series ever since the Radeon RX 6X70 series in mid-2022. This means that a new RDNA2 card, would actually be the first update in nearly a year.
We have received some photos of the upcoming Radeon RX 6800 XT Gaming OC PRO model, which is not yet listed on Gigabyte official site. What we can immediately see is that the PRO model is much bigger than the original version, now measuring at least 33 cm (from 28.6 cm):
A quick check confirms our suspicions, this RX 6800 XT card is using the same cooler as the RX 6950XT Gaming card, the flagship air-cooled RDNA2 desktop model from Gigabyte. This means that non-standard display connector layout with a pair of HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a. Furthermore, instead of dual 8-pin power connectors, users of Gaming OC PRO will find three.
The specifications of RX 6800 XT GAMING PRO are not yet fully confirmed, but one should expect an even higher clock than 2285 MHz as featured on the original RX 6800 GAMING card.
